A strong field has been set down for the Sunshine Coast Cup (1400m) this Saturday with good depth set to take its place.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 Sunshine Coast Cup.
2025 Sunshine Coast Cup Runner Preview:
1. Sinawann: Just a win at Ipswich this time but his confidence is up and he does have class on his side to run a race at odds.
2. Oughton: Got back in the Magic Millions Cup and was never a factor. Prior efforts were quite strong and he must have pleased the stable to back up from last week. His best is good enough to win.
3. Cottee: Back with Mark Currie after a two run stint with Moody/Coleman where she didn’t fire. Prefer to watch her.
4. Inver Park: Tends to save his best for this track/distance and was a strong winner here last time, getting back and finishing best. He’ll spot them a start but be strong at the end.
5. Irish Songs: Never a factor in the Snippets last week. This looks more to his liking but happy to let him go through to the keeper.
6. Grand Impact: SCR
7. Jetty: If there was a 1000m race, this guy would be a near good thing. But even with T Clark on, 1300m, this level, it’s too much for him.
8. Pocket Full: Pocket Full tends to save his best for the home track, which is usually the case with Stuart Kendrick and his stable. Five weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Eagle Farm when back off the speed and kept chasing in a pretty good effort in defeat behind subsequent Stakes winner Transatlantic. Back to where he races best, not penning him.
9. Devastate: Devastate for me in what looks a tricky race. Tony Gollan trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since July 27 at Doomben when a game third after leading, giving a strong kick but just felt the pinch late in the piece. He does go well fresh and has trialled up super. Lands near the front and only runs well.
10. Tapildoodledo: 2400m stayer. Not here.
11. Elettrica: Desperate to get blacktype with this mare but I thought she was a bit plain behind Grand Impact at Wyong and this is harder. Needs to improve.
12. Party For Two: Party For Two is one of the leading contenders. She hasn’t raced since Boxing Day here when somewhat struggling on the wet track behind the in form Busting. Freshened up and the tick over trial has been quite good so keen to see how she goes.
13. Lost In Transit: Home track advantage with a kind map, but thought he had his chance in a weaker race last time and I don’t see him running 1400m out strongly enough.
14. Under The Cap: Good track/distance record and did close off well fresh at Rockhampton first up. Should spot them a start but be strong at the end. One for exotics.
15. Hyde: Resumes without a public trial and better suited over further.
16. Kipling’s Journey: Dominant first up win at Ipswich but this is much harder.
2025 Sunshine Coast Cup $100 Betting Strategy:
$50 E/W Devastate for me.
2025 Sunshine Coast Cup Speed Map
Despite being first up, I think Devastate can push forward and potentially lead. He will have company though. Party For Two likes to settle handy, and Kipling’s Journey will look for a forward spot. Inver Park and Lost In Transit map ideally from trailing draws.
