It appears star sprinter Lankan Rupee cannot put a hoof wrong with punters.

Even though he was a well beaten sixth at his last start, Lankan Rupee ($5.00) is the best backed runner to defend his T.J. Smith crown at Randwick on Saturday.
Chautauqua heads online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au’s market at $2.80, just ahead of Terravista ($3.00). Sweet Idea ($7.00) is the only other runner in single figures.
“The punters have done the math and are happy to stick with Lankan Rupee. Chautauqua and Terravista beat him home in the Newmarket, but Lankan Rupee meets those horses much better at the weights,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes.
In Australian Derby betting, Preferment ($3.50) and Hauraki ($3.70) are fighting for favouritism with Rosehill Guineas winner Volkstok’n’barrell also well in commission at $4.60.
