Quirindi Cup 2025 – Field, Odds, Horses, Tips, and Betting Preview

A small but select field has been assembled for the Quirindi Cup (1600m) this Friday.

Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 Quirindi Cup.

2025 Quirindi Cup Runner Preview:

1. Contributingfactor: Took a little while to win but that changed at Muswellbrook last time, getting the beaut run in transit and finished best to score. Maps to get a similar soft trip in transit and he is the class factor.

2. General Soho: General Soho is the one for me. Ridden with intent at Randwick two weeks back in the Midway and the early burn just felt the pinch late in the piece behind Oh Diamond Lil. I think ridden with a touch more patience, he can run an improved race at odds and is good enough to win.

3. Bakerloo: Bumped into Point And Shoot at Randwick last time when off speed and just battled late in the piece. Tinkering with the gear to sharpen her up and her best is more than good enough to take this out.

4. Full Press: I was surprised he was as short as he was in the Walcha Cup and ran accordingly when down the track. Not sure how well he has come back, I am letting him go through to the keeper.

5. Aimpoint: Looks to have returned well after a second to Contributingfactor but I will say he had every chance on speed there and he jumps straight to the mile…I think he may need another run before a third up peak.

6. Ring Ahoy: Thought he was a real eye catcher in the Walcha Cup. Just got too far back but I really liked the way he closed off. But, if he flops out again, he’ll get buried back and in a slowly run race, I can’t see him winning.

7. Shamedy: Got a beaut run in transit in the Walcha Cup and looked all over the winner but had no answers for the finale of Casirina. He has run well at the mile previously, but it is still a query. He can win, but I’d rather watch than back.

8. Casirina: Bless his heart in the Walcha Cup, winning at $51+. Got a 12/10 ride and launched late to win. But, this time it looks awful for him, likely dragged back to last in a slowly run race. He can win with a drag into the race, but not as bullish on him compared to last time.

9. Macleay: Looks well suited back up in trip after coming back in trip in the Walcha Cup when far from disgraced. Back up in trip, can use the inside gate and settle closer…a win wouldn’t shock at all.

I don’t see much front end pressure here. Aimpoint by default does look the leader, and comfortably. Not sure he’ll get much pressure though, with Full Press likely sliding across to sit outside him. But most of these like to drag back for cover so I don’t anticipate much of a tempo.
