Paulele and Rothfire share the head of the betting in the Moir Stakes
Punters only want one horse when it comes to the Group l Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
Paulele has been runner up at Group l level his past two runs and resumes here with a win all but confirming he’ll represent Godolphin in The Everest. He has been clearly the firmer, into $4.20 from $5.
Rothfire opened the $4.40 favourite and sits at $4.50, rock solid despite the early weight of money for Paulele. They dominate the market, with next best being Zoustyle at $7.50, a point clear of Generation.
Online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au have equal favourites for the feature race tonight at The Valley, the Moir Stakes (1000m).
All week the market has been around Paulele, who resumes for James Cummings and is on the verge of an Everest slot. But, the last 24 hours, there has been good support for Queensland raider and first up winner Rothfire, and that pair share top spot in betting at $4.40.
The significant firmer has been three year old filly Coolangatta, who was $10 but continual support has seen her tighten into $4.40. Zoustyle is next best at $4.40.
