The C.F. Orr Stakes looks to be Dissident’s to lose and the bookmakers agree. The Peter Moody trained three time Group One winner has opened as the dominate $3.20 favourite and he will be looking to make it four Group One wins on Saturday.

Dissident looked a touch under-done first up in the Australia Stakes and jockey Ben Melham didn’t believe he handled the tight Moonee Valley circuit. He now returns to Caufield and competes at the same track and distance where he won the Group One Memsie Stakes. He also won second up last preparation so all signs point towards him taking a power of beating in a more suitable race.
The rest of the field seems hard to split and the two three year olds,Petrology($5) and Java ($7) are the only other runners in single figures.
Happy Trails, Mourinho, Mouro, Entirely Platinum, Spillway and Real Love all sit under the $20 mark and appear to have some claims.
