Punters have plunged on Private Eye in the Victory Stakes
Stradbroke winner Private Eye is the Ladbrokes.com.au favourite for one of the feature races at Eagle Farm this afternoon, the Victory Stakes (1200m).
The Joe Pride trained gelding hasn’t raced since a total forgive/forget run in the TJ Smith, but is here off a freshen up, trialled up well and returns to Brisbane, where he has a fab record. That said, he has been a touch soft in betting, sitting at $2.60, out from $2.30.
The firmer has been local champ Rothfire, who is at $4.60 on the second line of betting, in from $8.50. King Of Sparta is $9 to $7.50 and sits alongside Ascot Handicap winner Prince Of Boom.
