Class runner Persan is favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au for the time honoured Bagot Handicap (2800m) this afternoon at Flemington.
The Maher/Eustace trained stayer was out of the winners list for some time but bounced back into winning form last time in the JRA Trophy and the rise to 2800m from 2600m should be fine. Opened $3.70 and has been crunched, into $2.50.
Regal Lion is $4.40 to $3.90 and has been popular. Nobel Heights ran second to Persan in the JRA Trophy and has been well supported, now sitting at $5 after opening $7.
