Punters will be keeping a close eye on today’s meeting at Scone where the brother of a champion sprinter Chautauqua is set to make his debut.
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Rouchel, a half-brother to Chautauqua, makes his debut in Race Four on the card a 1100m maiden scheduled for 2:40pm.
Watch Rouchel’s recent Warwick Farm trial:
The More Than Ready colt has not been missed by punters, who have backed the three-year-old into $2.35 on Sportsbet from his opening quote of $4.40.
Rouchel was prominent in his two trials, which included a win on a heavy track at Randwick in July and more recently finishing third behind Muiron at Warwick Farm (Good 4) on August 9.
If he has inherited any of his brothers ability he will be very hard to beat with second favourite Roman Candle having only managed two fifth placings in his starts to date.
