After a luckless run at Flemington a couple of weeks back, Sportsbet.com.au punters are confident that General Groove can return to the winners list in the Golden Mile (1600m) at Bendigo this Saturday.
The Team Corstens trained runner ran over 1400m on his home track at Flemington and had no luck at all in the straight when running fifth to Red Bomber. He was due to run on Monday at Morphettville but was scratched and saved for this. The punters have reacted, with the horse at $3.80 after opening at $4.40.
He holds the favourite tag clearly ahead of Abidewithme, who opened $4.60 but has drifted out to $5.50. Velox ($6.50-$5.50) has been well backed after a couple of impressive Flemington jump outs.
