Over The Odds 16/9/2023 – Saturday’s Horse Racing Value Tips and Bets

Ladbrokes have got their markets out for racing this Saturday, and we have tried to find four runners that appears overs in betting.

Randwick Race One Number 13 Loving Cilla ($26):

I reckon there is a bet here in the shape of Loving Cilla. Greg Hickman has had her for a couple of runs and she is sneaky flying. Last run was over 1400m at Hawkesbury two weeks ago where she didn’t get a chance to build the revs and it was an ugly watch behind Oh Golly Gosh. Think getting to 1600m on the bigger track, getting towards peak fitness, she only runs well.

Randwick Race Six Number 6 Zardozi ($17):

Zardozi is too good of a horse IMO to pen off one run. She resumed in the Silver Shadow and on face value, she was terrible, but I think she had a clear excuse given she was three/four wide no cover for the trip and there was a strong headwind down the side, which was hitting her face on, and she was a beaten horse a long way out. As I said, she’s too good of a horse to pen.

Randwick Race Seven Number 8 Pericles ($8.00):

Pericles is flying this time in for James Cummings and being trained as a 1400m/1600m horse he seems quite effective. He lands on speed, he loves dry ground…I think he only runs well, especially after the Tramway win two weeks ago where he found the front and gave nothing else a look in. Good test here, but confident he measures up.

Randwick Race Nine Number 16 Rediener ($9.50):

Rediener is the way I am leaning, but not a whole lot of confidence. He ended last prep on a high, winning at Rosehill two back before a strong win in the Gunsynd Classic, beating a potential Group l horse, Yellow Brick. That form, I think, reads very well for a race like this, and with two trials under the belt, he’s ready to go.
