Chautauqua tops William Hill’s market ahead of Lankan Rupee at $3.20. Terravista and Brazen Beau share third favouritism at $5 with William Hill.
Punters have so far singled out Chautauqua as the horse to beat.
“We took twice the money for Chautauqua compared to Lankan Rupee in our all-in book,” said William Hill’s Andrew Brown.
“Obviously Chautauqua beat him in the spring and gets a 3kg turnaround but Lankan was awesome first-up and might just prefer racing in the autumn.”
In the Australian Cup, reigning Melbourne Cup champion Protectionist is the $4.60 favourite at William Hill, in front of Happy Trails ($5.50), Mourinho ($9) and Spillway ($9).
