Nature Strip will be out to push his claims towards the TAB Everest when he contests the Group 1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
The McEwen Stakes winner is TAB’s raging $2.25 favourite with five contenders on the second line of betting at $9.
“Last start he broke the track record and no doubt he will be popular with punters,” TAB’s Nick Quinn said.
“On a big night for TAB Everest contenders, Chautauqua will trial between races and is a $15 chance to win the Everest.”
Meanwhile, Grunt and Humidor have opened as joint $4.60 favourites for Sunday’s Underwood Stakes at Flemington.
