Smokin’ Joey has firmed from $41 into $26.00 for the Flemington Group 1. In an open race, Contributor heads betting on $5.00 ahead of Lucky Hussler and Bull Point, both at $7.00.
“We’ve been hit pretty hard by punters wanting to back Smokin’ Joey. He’s easily the best supported runner, with one punter having $2000 on the gelding at $41,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
Hooked ($7.50) is the second most popular runner with punters. Another roughie, River Lad ($81) has also attracted some money.
In good news for punters, if you place a win bet on the Stakes and it comes second or third, Sportsbet will refund your bet!
