Lanciato has been heavily backed at odds in Doncaster markets

Lanciato has been the find of the Sydney Summer/Autumn and despite the quantum leap in grade, he has been the best supported in early betting with Sportsbet in the Doncaster Mile (1600m) this Saturday at Randwick.

The Mark Newnham trained gelding came with a brilliant finale to win the Newcastle Newmarket last time out and secure the 1kg weight penalty to get into the final field. His finishing burst is something punters think can come to the fore. He opened $26 and was immediately trimmed down to $18 before easing to $19.

Favourite for the race is star three year old Kementari atDoncaster Mile but has been easy in early betting after opening $3.20, with that opening quote being far too short. Happy Clapper, who beat Kementari home in the George Ryder, is rock solid at $5.00.
