The outside barrier hasn’t deterred punters from backing Royal Descent in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au reports that Royal Descent has received the most wagers since drawing the car park. Royal Descent is a $21 chance while favourite Mongolian Khan has firmed from $4.40 into $4.20.
Japanese invader Fame Game, who drew barrier one, is solid at $11. Set Square ($9.00) and Hauraki ($8.00) are unwanted.
“Maybe it’s the Chris Waller factor with Royal Descent, but she has had more individual bets since drawing barrier 22. Fame Game is the another well supported runner, just ahead of Mongolian Khan,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
