Gytrash is TAB’s early favourite for the Kingsford Smith Cup at Eagle Farm despite drawing barrier 15 for Saturday’s Group One.
In what was a tough draw for the leading hopes, Gytrash was set at $4 after rivals also drew wide with Imaging in gate 16, Savatoxl 14, Vega One 13, Trekking 12 and Niccanova 11. Savatiano is at $5 after scoring barrier eight.
Plenty is riding on Jonker ($13) winning from barrier four on his home track for Tony Gollan, with one TAB punter standing to collect $225,000 after outlaying $5,000 on a double of Zaaki (Doomben Cup) and Jonker (Kingsford Smith Cup) at $45.
In Saturday’s other Group One, the Queensland Derby, Explosive Jack drew barrier six and was installed $2.80 favourite as he eyes a fourth Derby win this season.
