One of the feature races at Randwick this Saturday is the Inglis Millennium (1100m), where the race for the babies looks wide open on paper.

2026 Inglis Millennium Runner Preview:
1. Alibaba: I want to pen him. Thought he was well and truly blessed to win the Blue Diamond Preview and just not sure he is that good. He goes through to the keeper.
2. Plagiarism: Plagiarism should prove hard to beat for GaiBott. He was specked at odds when debuting in the Golden Gift, attempting to lead throughout and tried hard but had no answers late for Revengeance. Looks to have trialled up really well for the return and is one of the hardest to beat against these.
3. Audit: Times aren’t everything…but the time he ran in winning on debut at Wyong was horrendous. He’ll appreciate a bigger track, but not for me here.
4. Fireball: Let down nicely to win on debut in November before being spelled. Just one soft 740m trial for the return tells me no. But, J Mac rode in the trial and he rides here. Watch betting.
5. Star Of Jamaica: Ability wise, he’s right up there, but he needs to produce better barrier manners because he can be tardy away, and he can’t do that here and expect to be in the finish. if he jumps clean and settles handy, he can win.
6. Royal Exile: Looks a nice horse but needs more time I suspect. Still very green/raw.
7. Defenseman: Defenseman is a Chris Waller trained colt that resumes. He was down to run in the Canonbury last Saturday but has been kept on ice with this race in mind. He looks to have trialled up well enough for start one and overall, I don’t think this is a deep race, so watch betting.
8. Calamari Ring: Calamari Ring is a beaut for Ciaron Maher. She debuted in the Inglis Banner during Cup Week at Flemington, sitting off speed before being presented clear air and knuckled down with purpose late to score. Trialled up super, she appeals.
9. Where’s The Circus: Surprised most with her debut win in the Inglis Nursery but she beat nothing there IMO and this race looks far deeper.
10. Lassified: Kiwi filly who has talent but the form around her from across the ditch looks very suspect.
11. Screen Icon: Resumes after a debut placing in the Gimcrack, closing with purpose after doing work. Trialled up well, needs luck from the gate but if she gets it, she’s dangerous.
12. Ghana’s Akan: I think she has the engine under the hood. Been strong in two career outings. Just needs luck from the draw to be around the mark.
13. Long Throw: Kept chasing when placing on debut at Rosehill but that race looked thin so for me, she goes through to the keeper.
14. Jacaranda: Not sure Jacaranda beat much in her debut win at Seymour but the manner in which she put them away and how impressive she was to the line was something to like. Good test here, but maps ideally and think she can measure up.
15. Sheza Boom: SCR
16. Oh Yes She Did: Plain return and not up to these.
17. Persian Wonder (First Emergency): SCR
18. Profitabelle (Second Emergency): Profitabelle is several weeks between runs since a debut placing over 1000m here. She got off speed but worked home with real purpose late in the piece when third to Knightsbridge. Think that form reads well for this and better for the run, she takes beating.
