Some of the better performed horses in Sydney were out and strutting their stuff at the Randwick trials on Monday morning. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.

BLACK BOOK: Black Book these runners HERE and don’t miss their next run!

Randwick- Monday April 13, Weather Fine, Track Soft 6.

Heat Two- Proactive (2nd) and Dr Sykes (3rd):

Not the first time these two horses have made the ‘Trial Watch’ file. Really liked the way Proactive went about it. She sat second most of the way and wasn’t pressured until the last few strides where she closed off well. As for Dy Sykes, he got back in the run before peeling wide on the turn, under riding, but responded well and attacked the line with real purpose. Won’t be surprised to see both horses win at their next outing.

Heat Three- Moriarty (5th):

He wasn’t too bad first up in the George Ryder behind Real Impact in a hot form race. Heading towards the Brisbane Winter and he tuned up for it with a lovely trial effort here. He sat back in the run near last, and wasn’t pressured at all when weaving between runners and hitting the line strongly to run fifth. He’s the ‘Cash Cow’ for the Brisbane Winter.

Heat Four- Transfers (1st) and Crooked Stick (2nd):

Transfers showed really good gate speed to lead throughout and just bolt in this trial. She looked impressive, but so did the runner up Crooked Stick. She did the chasing and despite being under pressure, she did lengthen nicely and closed the gap on Transfers significantly. Could be a race up north for her this time in.

Heat Seven- Sarajevo (2nd):

Classy but frustrating galloper for Godolphin who has struggled to show his brilliant best, but on his day, he is a serious Group l horse. Loved the way he went about this trial, sitting off the speed before peeling wide on the turn and letting down powerfully under little pressure to run second. The Queensland Guineas/Stradbroke will be the target, and he’ll be very competitive based on this effort.

Heat Ten- I’ve Got The Looks (1st), Rose Of Choice (2nd) and Penny Red (3rd):

Mark this trial down as one to follow with confidence. Each of these three looked outstanding in the trial, most notably Rose Of Choice, who just bolted up in the trial and could have won, but was held back by Cassidy. Penny Red is eligible for provincials, so where ever he goes, I’ll be keen.

Heat Twelve- Stravigo (1st):

Nothing major to report with the two year olds, but this Team Snowden youngster did catch the eye. He was being aimed towards the Magic Millions but he couldn’t qualify. Looked really sharp in this trial, sitting wide throughout on speed, but ambled to the front close to home and won under triple wraps from Cassidy. He’ll go close to winning first up.
