Malkovich defied the betting drift to take out the SKY Racing Active Handicap (1100 metres).
The Bjorn Baker-trained galloper opened the day as $3.10 favourite but drifted right out to $5.50 at the jump, putting the colt on the third line of betting.
Leading throughout with Rachel King on board, Malkovich held off the finish of Triple Ace ($3.40-$5) which was another that got the wobbles in betting with Frozen in Time ($12-$8) rattling home for third.
Matowatakpe ($5.50-$4.80) went around as favourite while Dawn Too Good ($10-$6) was best tried of the others.

Favourite backers breathed a sigh of relief after Pinnacle Prince was able to land the money in the TAB Highway Class 3 Handicap (1200 metres).
The colt was sensationally backed all week and was crunched from $1.70 this morning into $1.55 at the jump. TAB initially went up $2.30 on Wednesday.
Going around with 70 percent of the total investment, Jason Collett had to get everything out of the Brett Cavanough runner to hold off the big finish of roughie Portuguese Tart ($81), while Toro Toro ($7), best backed outside the fav, was third.

Zing delivered a big blow to TAB when leading throughout in the Schweppes Handicap (1600 metres).
A four-year-old mare by Zoustar, Zing ($2.90) was three times as popular as anything else in the race and landed a number of big bets.
Stablemate Fifteen Aria ($4.60-$4-$4.60), which was the first horse backed on Wednesday when $11 was posted, was the second most popular in terms of money held.
Zing held well over half the total investment.

Big bets and multis were landed after All Time Legend led throughout in The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1400 metres).
The Les Bridge-trained galloper went around as one of the most popular horses all day anywhere in the country. The gelding held nearly 70 percent of the money and was responsible for more than five times the hold that was riding on the second pick, Subedar ($3.90-$6).
All Time Legend opened the day at $1.55 and firmed even further to start $1.45.

The running of the Ranvet Handicap (1500 metres) proved to be one of the best betting races on the card at Randwick.
Brutality ($4.40) went around as easily the most popular horse, holding 35 percent of the total investment. Juventus ($6.50-$5.50) carried some handy eachway investments and was second pick in that regard while Greek Hero ($5) had plenty of admirers at the price.
Fourth most popular, but still holding some decent coin, was Ulysses ($5.50-$6) which was able to lead throughout for Team Freedman and Tom Sherry.

It was the Freedman’s again but this time it was Anthony and Sam doing the job with their galloper King Of Hastings in the Heineken Handicap (1200 metres).
The gelding attracted a few big bets late in betting and after sitting three-wide the trip, proved too strong for his rivals and held off the finish of Bandersnatch ($6) to win by narrow margin.
Big Parade, the heavily tried $2 fav, was close up in third after leading. Unfortunately for backers of the gelding, he was one of the most popular gallopers all afternoon and a stack of multis featuring All Time Legend and Pinnacle Prince came undone.

Spirit Ridge went around as the most popular runner in the January Cup (2000 metres) and did the right thing by favourite backers.
One of three runners in the race for Mark Newnham, Spirit Ridge ($2.60-$3.30-$3.20) got out slightly in the market thanks largely to the support for stablemate Gone Bye ($6-$4-$4.40) as well as noted frontrunner Wolfe ($10-$6).
Spirit Ridge was nearly twice as popular as anything else in the race.

Sacramento was the best tried runner all week.
The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained galloper opened at $6 on Wednesday and was the first horse backed. Today, he bottomed out at $4.80 before jumping a $5 chance and carrying some nice investments he proved to be a losing result for TAB.
The big push for New Arrangement ($5.50-$4.40) nearly paid dividends.
Of the others, Word For Word ($9.50) attracted good eachway money.

Betcha Flying defied the betting drift to win the TAB Handicap (1500 metres).
The Chris Waller mare went from $6.50 in the morning out to $9 at the jump and was overshadowed in betting by several of her rivals.
More Prophets, a $10 chance when markets opened on Wednesday, was the most popular runner and went around a $4.40 favourite after bottoming out at $4. Bowery Breeze ($6.50-$4.80) was second pick in the market and had some support while there was strong eachway support for Dame Kiri ($8.50-$10) and Strawb ($6-$8). In a wide open affair, St Covet’s Spirit was a noted firmer $9-$6.

Favourite punters did not enjoy a good start to the day with Abseiler saluting.
Abseiler drifted in raceday betting from $11 to $19 (only two horse started a longer price).
Runner-up Telluride tightened as raceday favourite from $4.20 to $3.90.
The rally for Danaustar ($14 to $7.50) did not come to fruition.
Fourth placegetter Micro was supported at a price from $18 to $11.
Chameleon Choice ($5.50 to $7) finished third.

The challenging start to the meeting at Flemington continued with Milton Park winning.
Milton Park eased on raceday from $7 to as much as $14 before closing $13.
One TAB punter was cheering though with one bet of $2000 at $14 on Milton Park.
Third placegetter Zac De Boss drifted as favourite from $2 to $2.40.
One wager of $5000 at $2.40 was placed late in betting on Zac De Boss.
One bet of $4000 at $3.50 was also wagered on the unplaced Siren Rock (closed $3.50).
El Salto ($17 to as much as $26 before closing $21) was the runner-up.

Favourite backers were reeling after the unplaced effort of White Hibiscus.
White Hibiscus was backed from $2.10 on Wednesday to $1.55 before the barriers opened.
Almost 60 percent of support from TAB customers was for White Hibiscus.
One TAB customer parted with $7500 at $1.60 on White Hibiscus.
Island Joy ($16 to $18 on raceday) won like an odds-on favourite instead.
Make Mine Hennessy ($11-$17) and Lady D’Oro ($9-$10) were the minor placegetters.

The first favourite of the meeting saluted with Saccharo drawing away in the last 100 metres.
Saccharo eased on raceday from $3.60 to as much as $4.80 before closing $4.40.
Westbrook Park was supported from as much as $6.50 to $5 but failed to figure in the placings.
Hunamosa – also unplaced – was fancied from $21 to $7 on raceday.
Runner-up Magnossiva was backed from $14 to $10 including a $2500 bet at $10.
El Guerrouj ($10) was the third placegetter.

In an open race, the unplaced Real Feeling ($10 to $7 before closing $8) had support.
Runner-up Malicorne hovered between $7-$8 for the majority of betting (closed $7.50).
Miss Divine Em ($13 to $18 on raceday) finished third.
Defibrillate backed up his Lord Stakes win and registered his seventh victory from 11 races.
Defibrillate was supported early on raceday from $5 to $4.40 before drifting late to $5.
Unplaced favourite Mosh Music drifted from $3.20 to $4.40 on raceday.
Pancho firmed from $6.50 to $5.50 but did not figure in the placings.
Fourth placegetter Stars Of Carrum was well fancied on raceday from $11 to $6.50.
Double You Tee ($9 to $7.50) was the runner-up.
Influential Girl ($13) finished third with one TAB punter placing a $3500 wager at $12.

Unplaced favourite Riding The Wave was heavily backed from $2.30 to $1.95.
One TAB customer placed $4800 at $2.15 earlier this morning.
Minutes before the jump, another TAB punter plonked $15,000 at $1.95.
Third placegetter Brave Song was $5.50 out to $8.50 before closing $8.
A bet of $5000 at $8.50 was placed on Brave Song about 10 minutes before post time.
