ROSEHILL

RACE FOUR – EMIRATES PARK DENISE’S JOY STAKES

Ballistic Lover defied a big betting drift to lead throughout in the Denise’s Joy (1100 metres).

The Joe Pride galloper was $10 with TAB in the morning but blew to $23 at the jump after receiving little interest.

Most of the attention here was on Newsreader ($5-$3.80) which had been $7 when markets first opened on Wednesday. She was nearly twice as popular as Mollycoddle ($$7.50-$9).

Nags To Riches ($7-$5.50-$6) was one that was specked throughout the day.

BETS: Newsreader $1,200 @ $4, $1,000 @ $4, $3,000 @ $3.80 TWICE, $2,000 @ $3.80

BETS: Mollycoddle $1,500 e/w @ $8.50/$2.80

BETS: La Foret $1,000 e/w @ $9/$3, $4,050 @ $8.50

RACE FIVE – INGLIS 3YO GUINEAS

Some of the first bets taken this morning were for Midland and the early money proved spot on.

The gelding peaked at $14 shortly after 8am but that’s when the money started to roll in, seeing him bottom out at $10 not long after.

Jumping at that quote, Midland held only a tenth of the money that the popular elect Prime Star ($2.50-$2.10) did.

Exoboom was best backed outside the fav and jumped $3.10 second pick. Together, the two fancies in betting were responsible for nearly 75 percent of the investment on the race.

BETS: Exoboom $2,000 @ $3, $1,000 @ $3 MULTIPLE TIMES

BETS: Prime Star $2,135 @ $2.40, $24,500 @ $1.28 PLACE

RACE SIX – VINERY LUSKIN STAR STAKES

The good thing of the day did the right thing by his backers in the Luskin Star Stakes (1400 metres).

Lost And Running started a prohibitive $1.45 quote and was heavily leveraged through multis.

BETS: Lost And Running $5,000 @ $1.45, $26,500 @ $1.42, $5,320 @ $1.40, $5,000 @ $1.35

RACE SEVEN – KIA ORA STUD ORTENSIA STAKES

Albumin only had light support in the Ortensia Stakes (1100 metres).

Although specked from $18 into as low as $13, Albumin went around as a $14 shot and only held a fraction of what the top two in the market did.

Fituese ($2.90) and Embracer ($2.60) were the two punters zeroed in on. Together they held 66 percent of the total investment.

DOOMBEN

RACE THREE – 3YO PLATE

Glitter Strip ($17-$21) didn’t really blow in the market and hovered around the same mark for most of the day.

The Tony Gollan runner only had light support because all the money was with the favourite here.

Love Tap ($2.90-$2.25-$1.95) went around as one of the best supported runners all day. The Richard & Michael Freedman runner was responsible for 62 percent of the total investment.

BETS: Glitter Strip $500 e/w @ $21/$4.40, $500 @ $19

BETS: Love Tap $2,292 @ $2.60, $4,000 @ $2.20, $10,700 @ $2.10, $2,400 @ $2

RACE FOUR – JRA CHAIRMAN’S TROPHY

Warning defied the drift to arrive in time and take out the Chairman’s Trophy (2000 metres).

TAB went up $4 about the former Victoria Derby winner on Wednesday, however, $8 was being offered at the start of the race.

Hang Man was the one punters focused on. Jumping $3.70 favourite, he was responsible for approximately 33 percent of the total investment.

Of the others, So You Win ($5) had plenty of big bets riding on it.

BETS: Warning $1,000 @ $6.50

BETS: Hang Man $4,000 @ $3.80, $3,000 @ $3.70, $4,000 @ $3.50

BETS: So You Win $2,000 @ $5, $5,500 @ $4.80

RACE FIVE – SPIRIT OF BOOM CLASSIC

Prince Of Boom landed a big betting move after racing away to impressively take out the Spirit Of Boom Classic.

TAB went up $13 about his chances earlier in the week and astute punters jumped all over the double figures.

Continuing to shorten throughout the week, Prince Of Boom was $5-$4.40 today and easily the most popular runner in terms of money held.

BETS: Prince Of Boom $1,000 @ $4.80, $1,000 @ $4.60 MULTIPLE TIMES

RACE SIX – CANADIAN CLUB ROUGH HABIT PLATE

Criminal Defence went around as one of the roughies in the Rough Habit Plate.

Scoring a blowout win at $81, Criminal Defence had little support with most of the money sitting with the likes of Senor Toba, High Supremacy and Kukeracha ($5).

Senor Toba went around four times as possible as anything else while High Supremacy ($3.20-$2.90) was backed into equal favouritism.

RACE SEVEN – TAB DOOMBEN 10000

Favourite backers and multi players were cheering after Eduardo led throughout to take out the TAB Doomben 10000 (1200 metres).

The only horse to hold six figures with TAB Fixed Odds, Eduardo had been black figures during the week but opened $1.90 this morning.

Bottoming out at $1.65, the Joe Pride-trained runner jumped a very popular $1.70 fav and held nearly four times as much money as the next best supported runner which was Trekking ($8.50-$12).

Outside of the winner, The Harrovian (21-$34-$26) shortened up late after hitting $34.

BETS: Eduardo $3,000 @ $1.90, $2,115 @ $1.75, $7,000 @ $1.70, $3,000 @ $1.70

MAGIC MILLIONS BRIGHT SHADOW

Punters were on the money with Outback Barbie after she arrived in time to take out the Bright Shadow (1200 metres).

The Tony Gollan-trained mare was $7 this morning but constant support throughout the day saw her crunched into $3.90.

Such was the weight of support that she nearly overtook Athiri ($3.20-$3.80) for favouritism.

BETS: Outback Barbie $3,300 @ $4.60, $10,000 @ $4.20, $2,000 @ $4.20, $10,000 @ $3.90

MORPHETTVILLE

THE FURPHY GOODWOOD

Savatoxl caused the upset after leading all-the-way in The Furphy Goodwood.

Hovering around the $18 mark after opening this morning, the Team McEvoy galloper bottomed out at $16 but jumped at the slightly better price of $21.

Gytrash ($3.20-$2.70) was easily the most popular runner in terms of money taken. He held 3.5 times the amount of money than what Behemoth ($4.40-$4.80) did while Instant Celebrity ($5) actually held a bit more money and was most popular outside of Gytrash.

BETS: Behemoth $3,500 @ $4.60, $6,000 @ $4.40

BETS: Gytrash $10,000 @ $3, $2,000 @ $3 MULTIPLE TIMES, $10,000 @ $2.80, $3,000 x $4,000 e/w @ $2.80/$1.40, $5,000 e/w @ $2.70/$1.35, $2,000 @ $2.70, $1,000 @ $2.70 MULTIPLE TIMES

FLEMINGTON

THE ANDREW RAMSDEN

Realm Of Flowers had support all week to take out The Andrew Ramsden (2800 metres).

The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper opened $4.20 on Wednesday but had been tried in All In betting earlier in the week. At that point, $6 was available.

Today, she was backed from $4-$3 and she held the most money, only just, in front of Persan ($4.60) and Miami Bound ($3.10).

BETS: Realm Of Flowers $3,000 e/w @ $6/$2.25 (All In bet taken Tuesday), $10,000 @ $3.50, $6,050 @ $3, $3,000 @ $3

BETS: Miami Bound $5,000 e/w @ $3.50/$1.45
