FLEMINGTON
RACE ONE
Punters were sent packing early in the Network 10 Carbine Club Stakes (1600 metres).
Aysar was a heavily tried favourite in the opener and jumped a dominant $2.15 chance after opening the day at $2.05. TAB had gone up $2.80 on Wednesday and punters were quick to snap up the price.
Aysar was responsible for 60 percent of the total investment and was four times as popular as Crosshaven which wasn’t without his admirers.
After getting to as much as $4.60 at one stage in the morning, Crosshaven was backed late into $3.60 and was the best tried to knock off the fav and stablemate.
BETS: Crosshaven $1,000 @ $3.90 TWICE
BETS: Aysar $3,000 @ $2.20, $6,584 @ $2.10, $2,000 @ $2.10, $1,500 @ $2.10
BETS: Embolism $1,750 @ $4.80
RACE TWO
Favourite backers were ‘0 for 2’ to start the day at Flemington after the heavily supported Personal was beaten in the G.H.Mumm Wakeful Stakes (2000 metres).
The Tom Dabernig & David Hayes runner was one of the most popular runners all day at any venue, going around with three times as much as Victoria Quay ($5-$6.50) which overhauled it in the shadows of the post.
Victoria Quay, out of the Tony & Calvin McEvoy barn, was easily the best backed runner outside the favourite.
Of the others, Succeed Indeed ($11-$9.50) had admirers at the eachway quote as did Salto Angel ($12-$13) while Tyche Goddess ($41-$61) drifted out to a big price but was specked at the juicy odds.
Miravalle ($9.50-$6.50) was a notable firmer and was best tried outside the quinella pairing.

BETS: Miravalle $1,300 x $1,365 e/w @ $6.50/$2.20, $1,000 e/w @ $6.50/$2.20 TWICE
RACE THREE
Craig Williams rated Kemalpasa a treat in the TAB Stakes (1200 metres).
The Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained galloper sat on the speed and was too strong for his rivals, getting the job done as one of the best tried runners in the race.
TAB had the son of Magnus as a $6 chance in the morning but weight of support throughout the day saw him jump a $4.80 second favourite.
Octane ($2.90-$3.40) had plenty of money riding on it but it was a drifter. It went around twice as popular as anything else.
Bold Star ($10-$8-$8.50) had plenty of admirers while Blazejowski ($7-$8.50) carried a number of decent investments.
BETS: Kemalpasa $5,000 @ $5, $10,000 @ $2.50 PLACE

BETS: Blazejowski $1,000 @ $8.50
RACE FOUR
Despite being a noted drifter in betting, Ashrun defied the trend to arrive in time in the Lexus Hotham Stakes (2500 metres).
The Andreas Wohler runner opened $4.20 on Wednesday but kept getting out in the market as money came for several other runners.
Although attracting strong money of his own, the son of Authorized got out to $5.50 at the jump but produced a big finish under Kerrin McEvoy. The pair arrived in time to knock off Sound ($9-$7) in a great finish.
Brimham Rocks ($9.50-$6-$6.50) ran right up to the support for him to dead-heat for third with Future Score ($7.50-$11). Carif ($19-$10) firmed up.
The biggest disappointments, from a betting perspective, were Schabau and Admire Robson which went around as equal $5 favourites. The pair were responsible for 46 percent of the total investment.
BETS: Ashrun $2,500 x $1,500 e/w @ $5.50/$1.90, $1,500 @ $5.50, $1,500 e/w @ $5.50/$1.95, $1,000 @ $5.50 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,000 e/w @ $5.50/$1.95, $2,500 @ $4,

BETS: Future Score $1,000 @ $10
RACE FIVE
Shout The Bar caused a boilover in the Group One TAB Empire Rose Stakes (1600 metres).
Going around as a $26 chance, the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott mare was largely ignored but did still have some decent specking.
She was largely overlooked, as most of the field were, with the big money riding on Mystic Journey ($3.90-$2.60). ‘Betty’ was one of the best backed runners across the country and overtook Odeum for favouritism after that horse went $3.40-$4.40.
Despite the drift, Odeum nearly defied the drift as she held half of what Mystic Journey did.
Forbidden Love ($18-$10-$11) ran right up to the support for her and held third after doing all the work outside the leader. Of the others, Chaillot ($12-$9.50) rattled home for fourth.
BETS: Odeum $3,000 @ $4, $2,000 @ $4, $1,000 @ $4 MULTIPLE TIMES, $2,000 e/w @ $3.80/$1.60, $5,000 @ $3.60, $3,500 @ $3.60, $2,000 @ $3.50, $1,500 @ $3.40

RACE SIX
The market told the story in the running of the Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200 metres).
September Run was sensationally backed in the final 10 minutes, going from $4.40 into $3.30 in the dying stages of betting.
TAB initially went up $5.50 on Wednesday and that price didn’t last very long at all. In fact, she was backed into $4.40 pretty much straight away and hovered around that price for most of the week before an avalanche of late support.
She was passed by Farnan ($4.80-$4-$4.80) in popularity, but only just, and favouritism at one point before the colt went back out late to start second pick in the market.
The pair completely dominated the hold and accounted for nearly 60 percent of the market.
Of the others, Wild Ruler ($5.50-$6-$5) had sustained support while Glenfiddich ($17-$18-$14) was specked at the price. Swat’s That ($8.50-$7) was a quiet firm throughout the day too.
BETS: September Run $5,000 @ $4.40, $3,000 @ $4.40, $2,500 e/w @ $4.40/$1.80, $4,000 @ $4.20 TWICE

BETS: Flying Award $2,000 @ $23
RACE SEVEN
Eachway and value players were cheering when Johnny Get Angry overhauled the heavily supported favourite to take out the AAMI Victoria Derby (2500 metres).
Johnny Get Angry, a $21 chance on TAB Fixed Odds, was tried at the price for trainer Denis Pagan but was largely overshadowed by the likes of Young Werther ($3.80-$3.40) and Cherry Tortoni ($4.40-$3.70) along with Hit The Shot ($7-$6.50-$7).
Young Werther was nearly three times as popular as the two abovementioned horses and held a tick over 33 percent of the total investment on the race.
Cherry Tortoni was heavily tried while Hit The Shot was carrying good, strong investments at the eachway odds. Albarado ($7-$11) was a noted drifter and ran accordingly.
BETS: Johnny Get Angry $1,000 e/w @ $17/$4.40
BETS: Young Werther $4,500 @ $3.80, $1,950 @ $3.50, $1,000 @ $3.50 MULTIPLE TIMES, $4,000 @ $3.40, $3,000 @ $3.40 TWICE

RACE EIGHT
Yulong Prince was quietly supported throughout the afternoon and was a good firm all week in the Kennedy Cantala (1600 metres).
The Chris Waller runner was $16 earlier in the week and today was backed from $12-$11 and was one of eight horses that held six figures.
Popularity was clearly with Mr Quickie ($5.50-$7-$6.50) along with Buffalo River ($4.80 on Wednesday, $6.50-$7.50 today) while Wild Planet ($12-$8 was easily the most notable mover after being $16 when markets opened.
There was strong money for Rock ($10-$8.50), Nonconformist ($10-$8.50) and Fifty Stars ($9-$16) who blew badly despite the interest in him.
BETS: Rock $3,000 @ $8, $2,000 @ $8
BETS: Nonconformist $2,000 e/w @ $8.50/$3 TWICE
BETS: Kings Legacy $2,000 x $1,000 e/w @ $16/$4.80

RACE NINE
It was Chris Waller again, this time with Fiesta, with a decent betting move being pulled off in the Furphy Sprint (1100 metres).
The daughter of I Am Invincible was easily the best tried outside the favoured pair of Diamond Effort and Fituese. TAB had her at $8 in the morning but through consistent support all afternoon, her price plummeted to $5.50.
Diamond Effort ($3.60-$4.40-$3.90) was very costly for her backers as she was one of the more popular runners on the Flemington card. The same story applied for Fituese ($4.60-$4.20-$4.60).
ROSEHILL
RACE ONE
One of the more popular runners in the TAB Highway Class 3 Handicap (1200 metres) was Art Cadeau.
The Terry Robinson-trained runner was pretty solid at $5.50 throughout the day but had been $6.50 earlier in the week.
A son of Artie Schiller, Art Cadeau held more than any other runner in the race bar Blitzar ($4.60) which went around as favourite.
The pair were the only two gallopers that held six figures in the event.
BETS: Art Cadeau $1,000 @ $5.50
BETS: Blitzar $1,000 @ $4.80, $2,000 @ $4.20
BETS: Monicas Star $1,000 @ $5.50 TWICE
BETS: Shanaya $1,000 @ $18
RACE TWO
Enchanted Heart did the right thing by punters in the Schweppes Handicap (1400 metres).
The most popular runner in the race, Enchanted Heart held more than double the amount of money than any other runner.
Going around as a $3 favourite, the Kris Lees runner landed a number of big bets and delivered a losing result to TAB.
Fortune Seeker ($5) and Obvious Step ($5.50) were the two best tried outside the winner which was guided home by Nash Rawiller.
Ellsberg, $3.90 in the morning, drifted out to $5.50 at the jump but still managed to fill the runner-up spot. Nicci’s Fling ($8.50-$7) wound up in third.

Segalas ($4.20-$3.60-$4) gave punters another big win early on the card as the Godolphin runner was responsible for 40 percent of the total investment.
Tom Sherry dived back to the inside lanes on straightening and hit the front midway down the stretch before holding off the charging Miss Einstein ($7.50-$6) which ran right up to the support for her.
Willowheart ($4.40) was extremely popular too and held more money than anything else outside the winner.
BETS: Segalas $2,500 @ $4, $2,400 @ $4, $1,000 @ $4 MULTIPLE TIMES, $1,500 @ $3.80, $1,100 @ $3.80

RACE FOUR
One of the ‘good things’ of the day according to the money was Archanna in the Fujitsu General Handicap (1900 metres).
The Chris Waller are was $3.90 in the morning but punters were quick to jump all over the price, slamming her into as low as $2.50 before she started a dominant $2.60 favourite.
Given a gun run by Nash Rawiller, the pair overhauled the leader Navy Cross ($5.50-$8) in the straight to land a decent betting move.
Archanna was one of the best tried runners at Rosehill on the day and accounted for a tick over half the market.
BETS: Archanna $1,250 @ $4.80, $1,960 @ $2.70, $5,000 @ $2.60 TWICE, $3,500 @ $2.60, $3,000 @ $2.60, $1,373 @ $2.50

Brad Widdup’s mare opened the day at $8.50 and consistent specking throughout the afternoon saw it firm into $7.50 at the jump.
Louise Day got everything out of the daughter of All Too Hard late to hold off Hulk ($11-$12), which was carrying significant eachway investment.
The heavily supported Macroura ($3.90-$2.80) was crunched in betting, went around with nearly half the market, and was more than three times as popular as anything else. She was running on nicely in third but proved costly for her backers.
BETS: Switched $1,500 e/w @ $7.50/$2.20
BETS: Macroura $3,433 @ $3.10, $1,500 @ $3.10, $3,750 @ $2.80, $3,500 @ $2.80 TWICE, $2,500 @ $2.80 MULTIPLE TIMES, $2,000 @ $2.80

BETS: Black Magnum $3,500 @ $8.50
RACE SIX
It was a blowout in the Kypreos Group Rosehill Gold Cup (2000 metres) with Costello getting up at $31 on TAB Fixed Odds.
The David Payne runner was largely ignored by punters and was $34-$31 on the day off the back of very little support.
The Cup was a tremendous betting race with Wu Gok ($5.50-$5) going around as the most popular runner in front of Nimalee ($4.60-$4.80) while The Candy Man ($8) and She’s ideel ($7.50-$5) had plenty of admirers also.

RACE SEVEN
The betting was spot on for the running of the Yes Yes Yes Stakes (1300 metres).
Despite being a drifter from $2.60-$3.40, Gytrash was easily the most popular runner in the race by far and away. He was twice as popular as the big mover in the event, Haut Brion Her, which was $5-$3.80.
The pair dominated the hold and were responsible for well over half the investment on the race.
There were others moves in the race for horses at longer prices including Eduardo ($5.50-$4-$4.20), Imaging ($13-$10) and Star Of The Seas ($11-$9-$11).
Gytrash was very popular with TAB customers and delivered a horror result for bookies as a result of his outstanding win.

RACE EIGHT
The big mover all week was Colette and although she was a bit soft late in betting, she landed a great betting move to take out the Iron Jack Golden Eagle (1500 metres).
Installed a $13 chance after the barrier draw, money immediately came for the Godolphin mare to the point where was quickly backed into single figures.
That support continued today and she briefly overtook Funstar for favouritism before getting back out late. Her flucs on the day were $6-$10-$9.
Funstar $5.50-$4.80 was easily the most popular runner in the race with Colette and Alligator Blood ($7.50-$9.50) the most popular outside the favourite.
The other big firmer in the race was Icebath with the two biggest firmers in the race running the quinella. Icebath was $26 on Tuesday and jumped a $6.50 chance!
Funstar held approximately 30 percent of the total investment. Of the rest, Riodini ($19-$13) was a late mover.

BETS: Superstorm $2,000 @ $21
RACE NINE
The big move for Elaborate paid off in the Quayclean Handicap (1400 metres).
The Richard & Michael Freedman-trained runner started the day as a $34 chance, making him one of the outsiders of the field.
Throughout the day the gelding was specked at the juicy odds and went $14-$9 late to get the money over the very popular Stockman ($12-$7.50-$9).
Zakat ($4-$5.50) ran a good race for his backers and after doing plenty of work wound up third.
Surreal Step ($4.40-$3.60-$4) was costly as the Team Hawkes runner was backed earlier in the week when double figures were offered. That support continued throughout the day as the rain arrived.
