RACE ONE
Aim was kept safe in betting for the running of the TAB Venue Mode Handicap (1200 metres).
The Team Snowden runner was the third best supported runner alongside stablemate Stellar Pauline ($3.60-$6), however, he held a third of what the fav in Hinchbeast ($4.40) did.
Aeecee Power ($5-$4.60) was the second most popular runner and attracted a number of big bets late.

RACE TWO
The winner halved its opening quote in the Schweppes Handicap (1400 metres).
Edison had opened $8 on Wednesday when TAB first released the markets for Randwick, with punters jumping on the Bjorn Baker runner instantly.
With $5 available on Thursday, continued support saw Edison open $4.20 today and eventually jump a $3.90 favourite after overtaking Twentyfour Carat ($4.20) and Cinqueda ($3.50-$4.80) at the top of the market.
Edison held 31 percent of the total investment.

RACE THREE
Greenspan didn’t attract much attention in the TAB Highway Class 2 Handicap (1300 metres).
The John Bateman runner drifted from $18-$31 on the day and held a fraction of what the more popular runners in Eiger ($4.40), Absolute Trust ($6-$4.20 fav), Badoosh ($5) and Hiroko ($5.50) did.

RACE FOUR
Good late support for Vadiyann paid dividends in the Bisley Workwear Handicap (2000 metres).
The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained runner was backed in from $505-$4.80 on the day and was easily the best tried late. Fun Fact ($3.20) went around with most of the money though and held more than double anything else in the race.

Passage Of Time was kept pretty safe in betting for the running of the December Handicap (1400 metres).
The Joe Pride runner was $5 at the start of the day and ended up jumping at that quote after getting to as much as $6.50 throughout the afternoon.
Most of the money was with Smartedge ($3.60-$3-$3.50) which held approximately 33 percent of the total investment.

RACE SIX
Sophiella ($18) went around at double figure odds in the SKY Racing Active Handicap (1000 metres) and didn’t have many admirers.
Another winner for Bjorn Baker on the day, Sophiella held less than 10 percent of the money that the very popular Broken Arrows ($4.80-$4) did. Zaniah ($2.90-$4.20-$3.90) continued to drift throughout the day until a late rally while Gododdin ($8.50-$5) was a notable firmer.

RACE SEVEN
Asharani defied a betting drift to upset the heavily supported favourite in the Heineken 3 Handicap (1400 metres).
The Kris Lees runner went $8-$11 as most of the attention focused on Word For Word which fluctuated wildly. Initially opening at $4.40 earlier in the week, the mare was crunched into as low as $2 this afternoon before getting back to $2.70. She held nearly 60 percent of the money.
To Your Health ($9.50-$5.50) was a dramatic firm.

Taniko was a losing result for TAB in the Ranvet Handicap (1200 metres).
The Godolphin runner had opened at $8 earlier in the week and soon after attracted a big bet of $5,000 x $4,000 e/w @ $6/$2.40. Today, she was $4.60 in the morning and hovered around the $4.20-$4.40 mark before jumping at the latter.
Usain Bowler ($3.70-$6) was a big drifter while Romani Girl ($6.50-$5) was the other that punters zeroed in on.

Spencer was the subject of a big bet late for the running of the Hyland Boxing Dale Sale Handicap (1600 metres).
Getting out to $6.50, the Bjorn Baker runner was backed into $5.50 late off the back of a few decent investments. Pinup Miss ($8-$4.60) was one of the better moves on the day while Almerheri ($5.50) had admirers as did Nindamos ($8).

RACE ONE
The money was spot in the Christmas Carols Handicap (2500 metres).
Secret Blaze held favouritism for most of the week before being joined, albeit briefly, by Defibrillate ($2.90-$2.70-$2.80). The pair were responsible for nearly 80 percent of the money.
The winner, trained by Tony & Calvin McEvoy, was $2.20 on Wednesday and today went $2.40 out to as much as $2.80 before jumping slight $2.70 favourite.

RACE TWO
A slight nibble at odds for Kuramae paid dividends in the Christmas Race Day Trophy (1400 metres).
Firming $13-$10 throughout the day, Kuramae was actually one of the least favoured runners in the race which was dominated by the likes of Need New Friends ($3.80), Ruler By Choice ($5), Parmie ($12-$8.50) and Feign ($10).

RACE THREE
Bold Star had good backing all week despite losing favouritism today to Propelle.
When the market for The Festive Season Sprint (1000 metres) opened on Wednesday, $4.60 was available for Bold Star which was taken quickly. The Gordon Richards runner bottomed out at $3 but got back out to $3.70 today after Propelle had come in for strong support.
Propelle ($3) was the best tried runner in the race and held 37 percent of the total investment. Bold Star and Esperance ($5.50) were the others to carry serious money.

Manhattan Arch defied the betting drift to take out the Santa’s Stable Handicap (1400 metres).
Opening the day as a $5 chance, Manhattan Arch got out to as much as $7.50 at the jump which was the best price available for the gelding all week. Eventually he started a $7 shot.
D’aguilar ($2.80) was easily the best tried runner in the race and was nearly four times as popular as anything else.

In a fairly competitive running of the Merry Christmas VRC Members Plate (1600 metres), it was Thousand Wishes which landed a nice betting move.
TAB customers backed her from $4.60 in the morning into $3.90 at the jump.
She was the second best supported runner in terms of money taken behind Great Duchess ($3.20).
RACE SIX
There was constant eachway support all day for Alburq in the Candy Cane Lane Plate (1200 metres).
The son of Rubick hovered around the $6-$7 mark throughout the day before jumping as a $6.50 chance. Can’t Be Done ($2.80) was one of the best supported runners all day and firmed from a morning quote of $3.80 to start a dominant $2.80 fav.
That Girl ($3.30-$4.20) drifted throughout the afternoon but still held some big bets.

Favourite backers had no cause for concern with Yulong January landing a number of big bets and multis in the Yuletide Handicap (1400 metres).
Going around with nearly 65 percent of the total investment, Yulong January was heavily backed from $2.10 in the morning and crunched into $1.80. One of the best supported runners across the country all day, the Maher & Eustace runner was a popular anchor for multi players too.

RACE EIGHT
There was money throughout the day to suggest that Aktau could run a big race in the #lovethehorse Trophy (1600 metres).
Mike Moroney’s latest stable addition opened the day at $6.50 but the real story here was the fact it was $13 when markets were first released on Wednesday.
It went around as the second most popular runner in the race behind the heavily supported Sure Knee ($2.40) which burnt punters for the second straight race.

RACE NINE
Chicago Cub landed a few nice bets in the final event of the program – the Mrs Claus Bakery Plate (1200 metres).
The Mike Moroney runner attracted some good investments late and after being $10 in the morning, started at $6.50.
Sebrakate ($3.70) held the most money in the race despite starting second pick in the market behind Zizzis ($3.60).
