The feature race at Rosehill this Saturday is the Golden Rose (1400m) where a crack field has been assembled.
Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2025 Golden Rose.
2025 Golden Rose Runner Preview:
1. Beiwacht: He’s a beauty. Tries his guts out each time he steps out and that was the case in The Run To The Rose. I doubt he wins/turns the tables on Tempted, but lobs handy and will run an honest race.
2. Nepotism: Nepotism is a big price here I feel. He resumed in the Run To The Rose where he got too far back in the run and was never really a factor. Fitter, 1400m, Winkers on to sharpen him up and he does have the runs on the board.
3. Skyhook: I think he fights out the finish with Tempted if he got clear air. Just got out when it was too late. If the breaks go his way, he can win.
4. Wodeton: Kept chasing in the Run To The Rose after being wide throughout but was safely held. Maps much better, J Mac, Waller in a Grand Final…but I don’t see him winning here. Keen to take on.
5. State Visit: Did more than enough in the Run To The Rose and is suited up to 1400m but I can’t entertain him.
6. Rivellino: He has the talent to measure up. Just keeps being tardy away. If Nash can get him out, he can settle forward and be effective late. He seems well over the odds IMO.
7. Autumn Boy: Quite keen here on Autumn Boy. Chris Waller trained colt that resumed in the Ming Dynasty two weeks ago and he was enormous in defeat from off speed, closing with real purpose late in the piece when second to stablemate Sixties. He can settle closer in the run, be strong late and looks primed for a forward showing.
8. Sixties: Had the pattern in his corner in the Ming Dynasty but credit to him, he took advantage and was too good. Front end control, he’ll be dangerous, especially if it’s playing up/in.
9. Tempted: Tempted is a star for Ciaron Maher and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat after her spank job return in the Run To The Rose, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. Fitter and up in trip, she can easily blow these away and stamp herself as an Everest contender.

2025 Golden Rose Speed Map
Sixties should lead this field up, and quite comfortably. Wodeton should land in the box seat from the inside gate…do they give Autumn Boy and lob outside Sixties? Rivellino could also press forward from a wide gate.
