Eight races will be run and won at Belmont this Saturday for Blue Spec Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (7) and the rail is out nine metres for the entire circuit.

3 Lake Baikal (Bet Now: $15.00) steps up to 1400m off the back of an electric debut win over 1100m last Thursday at Northam, giving his rivals a start and a beating in an impressive display. Straight to 1400m is fine, he takes beating.

6 God’s Hammer (Bet Now: $3.80) steps up to 1400m after resuming over 1300m here two weeks ago. He got a fair way out of his ground and was held up at times but I did think he was never really threatening. The rise to 1400m with the run under the belt, he commands respect.

8 Lucky Eighty Eight (Bet Now: $41.00) should be better for the debut run, which came over 1200m here. He got back off speed and just whacked in the run to the line. Rising in trip, run under the belt, he’s dangerous.

6 Swingman (Bet Now: $5.50) should be better for the first up run, which came two weeks ago at this track/distance where he landed on speed and tried hard but first up, condition just gave out late. Fitter, lands near the front, firmer deck, he takes beating.

4 Pin Deep (Bet Now: $1.90) is three weeks between runs since a track/distance win, getting the suck run in behind before angling clear and finished best to score. His confidence is up, he can certainly go on with it.

1 Ginnivan (Bet Now: $19.00) did a reasonable job behind Pin Deep three weeks back. He did early work in the run but tried hard. Just couldn’t quite finish it off. If he finds the front/fence, I think he’ll run a cheeky race at odds.

8 Yes I Know (Bet Now: $2.80) on top for me. Total forgive first up before bouncing back to his best two weeks ago over 1200m here, giving them a start and a beating in an impressive effort. His confidence is up, he can go on with it.

6 Wonderfully Made (Bet Now: $7.50) is a Dan Morton trained mare that resumes. Her last run came in the WA Derby where she led and seemingly had her chance but just tired late in the piece. She is a good mare when right and if she’s ready to go, she appeals.

7 The Crimson Pirate (Bet Now: $4.20) is short of his best trip but he does look a nice horse that resumes for Dan Morton. He was very good when last in work and while he likely spots them a start, he should be strong late and a win wouldn’t totally shock.

5 Sweet Surrender (Bet Now: $6.50) should take beating here. She ran over 2200m at Northam last start when off speed and kept chasing the line in a good effort in defeat behind Warralea Lass. Trip is fine, she’ll be strong late and is a clear top seed.

6 Eternal Romance (Bet Now: $7.00) steps up in trip for Team Pearce after a win last Thursday at Northam, giving her rivals a start and a beating in an impressive effort. The rise in trip is fine and this isn’t a deep contest.

1 Decision Maker (Bet Now: $6.00) ran over 2200m here last Saturday where he tried to make a sustained run from off speed and tried hard but just tired late in the piece behind Rommeo. Firmer deck, back in trip and not as much depth, he appeals as a knockout chance.

3 God’s Gate (Bet Now: $4.20) has done little wrong in recent times and is top seed for me. Strong winner two back at Pinjarra before going to 1200m here two weeks ago, sitting on speed and trying hard but was run down late by Yes I Know. Extra 100m is fine, he’ll take beating.

4 Gold Flakes (Bet Now: $6.50) steps up to 1300m after racing over 1000m at the midweeks. She landed just off speed and tried hard hard but had to settle for a third to Mai Aloha. Rising in trip is fine, good racing style, she’s in the mix.

1 Ruler Rocket (Bet Now: $31.00) was sneaky good behind True Fiction two weeks back here. He got a fair way out of his ground but liked the way he finished his race off. If he can settle closer, be within range, he’s a threat for sure.

3 Ginger Green (Bet Now: $9.00) each way for me. He ran last Saturday at this track/distance, attempting to lead throughout and gave a strong kick but tired late behind Lillian when fourth. Firmer deck and with a bunny to chase, he’ll take holding out.

2 In Confidence (Bet Now: $1.40) is flying this time in for Dan Morton and is one of the hardest to beat. She won over 1400m here two weeks ago, getting the sweet sit in behind before letting down under Pike and was strong to the line in scoring. Mile should be fine, she commands respect.

6 Belle Journee (Bet Now: $61.00) was a track/distance winner from two weeks back. She landed near the speed and found plenty under pressure to fend them off and score. She’s found winning form, she can go on with it.

5 Too Dardy (Bet Now: $9.00) steps up to the mile after a dominant win over 1400m two weeks ago here, sitting off speed before coming with a well timed run to score. His confidence is up and rising to the mile, he’s one of the hardest to beat.

11 Lillian (Bet Now: $2.40) was a dynamic track/distance winner last Saturday, giving his rivals a start and a beating in an impressive display. Seven day back up and a firmer deck, but off that win, she commands respect.

10 Lavalier (Bet Now: $81.00) is fourth up from a spell and should be at peak fitness. He comes back to the mile after racing over 2100m here three weeks back when back in the run and just whacked in the run to the line. Back in trip is fine and this isn’t a deep contest overall.

6 Flash Dancer (Bet Now: $8.50) is flying for Neville Parnham and I am happy to be in his corner. He won at this track/distance at the midweeks, coming with a well timed run from off speed to score. He’s hard fit, flying…hard to get away from him.

5 Hubble’s Dragon (Bet Now: $3.00) should be better for the first up run, which came two weeks ago at this track/distance, sitting off speed and tried hard but first up, condition gave way late. Fitter, can settle closer, senior rider on, hard to beat.

7 Ripper Farooq (Bet Now: $11.00) landed on speed two weeks back at this track/distance. He tried his guts out but just tired late in the piece behind impressive winner Yes I Know. Think with a bunny to chase, he’ll be far more effective.
