Moe
$100 Win Hot Sizzle R7 @ $6 (Sportsbet)
Moe Overview: Tricky day of racing but think the $6 on offer for this filly looks a touch of overs. Patrick Payne is having a really good run at the moment and he trains this filly, who is a few weeks between runs when racing over 1200m at Mildura when back, held up, but got clear and found the line strongly when second to Royal Duty. The dam Cameo Minx was a swimmer so wet track no issue and on breeding, a hard 1200m will suit her. Happy to be on at the odds.
Cessnock
$20 Parlay 3,4 = $100 Cost
Punch The Clock R4 Place
Commander Bell R6 Win
Ayeteem R7 Place
Harry And The Duke Place
Cessnock Overview:
Tricky meeting for the return to racing at Cessnock. Punch The Clock is a Reliable Man filly resuming for Bryce Heys and I haven’t minded the way she has trialled leading into her resumption, showing early speed in the Warwick Farm trial and looked decent enough there. Hopefully remains around $3-$3.50 place. Commander Bell looks a near good thing in the sixth. Has had a few cracks to break the maiden tag, but he gets a great chance here off the back of a strong effort in what looked an okay enough maiden at Wyong. Ayeteem was good last time at Tuncurry over 1400m given he was stepping up in trip and was a few weeks between runs. Back in trip a little concern, but soft gate and will be strong late. Harry And The Duke did himself no favours last time out at Port Macquarie when pulling hard, which left him with nothing left for the straight. If he can relax better in the run, he’ll be hard to beat in the get out.
