Race Two Number 9 Yankee Rose (1st):
I think this is a serious Slipper horse. Had no right to win the race given the pace was slow and she was near last, but she just savaged the line and won with real class and quality. Interesting to note that her personal splits have been quicker than what Vancouver produced this time last year…we know what he did in the Slipper.
Race Five Number 1 Award Season (5th):
The persistence of Kris Lees looks as though it will reap rewards with Award Season. First run in over two years and he was simply fantastic in running fifth. Probably will run flat second up, but follow him soon after.
(Forgive) Rosehill Race Seven Number 8 All Salsa (8th):
I’d keep tabs on this mare. She was up to 1400m and that really isn’t her go, but Kathy O’Hara got the mare out quite nicely and had the box seat sit behind Festivity. Tried hard but just tired late. Back to 1200m and perhaps slightly back in grade on a firm track and she will be winning.
Ballarat:
Race One Number 7 The Travelling Man (7th):
Given the way the track played, this bloke was very good. Wide throughout and was out near the car park on the turn, but closed off strongly against the bias. He is ready to win very soon.

The Track:
Played towards leaders and horses near the inside. Very hard to make up ground out wide, and over the next day or so, you’ll find out the eye catchers and horses to follow. Chuck in Ascot and Doomben tracks too.
