Punters have not started 2019 Caulfield Guineas day on the front foot with arguably the best backed horse of the day Loving Gaby going down in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes.
Loving Gaby opened at $3.30 in betting earlier in the week and had been heavily backed throughout betting and jumped at $1.80 with Ladbrokes but punters were never confident with the star filly looking uncomfortable sitting closer to the speed.
The opening favourite for the race California Zimbol led kicked and raced away for an easy win but bookies could not write a bet on her this week, she opened at $3.20 on Wednesday and got out to $4.50.
California Zimbol is now likely to head to the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.
Sportsbet took some big bets on Loving Gaby right before the race.
