A TAB punter is confident that Arcadia Queen can salute in Saturday’s TAB Everest at Royal Randwick after placing a $10,000 bet at $6 overnight, which would result in a $60,000 collect.
Since being transferred from Grant and Alana Williams, Arcadia Queen has run once in Sydney for Chris Waller and was victorious in the 1300-metre Theo Marks Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on September 14.
It was the sixth victory from seven starts for the four-year-old daughter of Pierro, with one of those wins at Group 1 level in last year’s Kingston Town Classic over 1800 metres at Ascot on December 8.
The $10,000 wager overnight on Arcadia Queen equals the biggest bet TAB has received on Saturday’s The Everest with one punter on October 3 placing $10,000 at $7 on Arcadia Queen.
On September 7, one TAB customer plonked $10,000 at $11 on Redzel hours before he resumed triumphantly in the 1000-metre Concorde Stakes at Royal Randwick.
Arcadia Queen is currently the fourth-most popular galloper with TAB punters for the TAB Everest as she accounts for 16 percent of the money placed on the 12 confirmed slot holders.
TAB’s representative, $4.60 favourite Santa Ana Lane, is currently the most popular runner with 18 percent of the support ahead of Pierata (17 percent) and two-time winner Redzel (16.5 percent).
The official declarations for Saturday’s TAB Everest will be confirmed at 10am Tuesday AEDT.
