Bet One- Win Parlay 3,4- Coffs Harbour Race One No 3/Race Two No 5/Race Four No 2/Race Seven No 3:
Exdream takes on a bunch of scrubs in the first and really should be winning. Paolo is on debut for Kris Lees in the second and has trialled up well on a couple of occasions for his first start. Think he’ll take beating. Impulsive Maneuver just looked in need of the run first up and now the blinkers go on, so there looks to be intent. Phoenix Global was dominant last time in breaking the maiden tag at Ipswich and this race doesn’t appear strong.
Bet: $20 = $100 Cost
Bet Two- Win – Coffs Harbour Race Three Number 8 Delayed Response:
I will be very surprised if Delayed Response doesn’t start closer to favourite. Really well bred daughter of So You Think on debut for local trainer Paul Smith, who is batting at 25% winning strike rate the last 12 months. This filly trialled here on December 13 and really, she could not have been more impressive in winning the trial. I’ll go as far to say the last time I was impressed by a trial from an unraced horse was Victorem. I think the $4.20 is very much overs.
Bet: $100 Win at $4.2 (BetEasy)
Bet Three- Win Multi – Coffs Harbour Race Six Number 8 Tilbury Lodge:
Sally Taylor trains this seven year old gelding and he’s not the most reliable when it comes to greeting the judge but he’s rarely far away and he looks to be worthy of an each way speck. Ran over the mile here last time and worked home well late to run fourth to I’ve Got This. First look at 2000m but I think he’ll be fine and I’ve seen worse double figure shots.
Bet: $20 E/W at $15/$3.8 (BetEasy)
Bet Four- Each Way – Mornington Race Four Number 12 Ultimate Gold:
Rare to see Darren Weir venture to Mornington but after a rather lean weekend with his runners, he might be thirsty for a winner. This girl was really good on debut at Stawell, sitting back and closing off nicely late to run third. Draws gate one so should be able to sit handy in the first few and I don’t think the inside will be a disadvantage. Happy to be with her.
Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Bet Five- Win – Mornington Race Eight Number 5 Rossman:
At the time of writing this, the odds weren’t up, so not sure what he’ll open or where he’ll start. I’m hoping we can get around $2-$2.5 for him but more than likely we’ll get odds on. Very promising galloper for David Briedoake who returns as a gelding. Showed good promise as a three year old but plenty wrong. Much the same in the recent jump out. He wanted to lay in but looked to move very nicely. Should be winning. What price? Not sure, so apologies in advance if he opens up something silly short.
Bet: $50 Win (Tote)
Total Spend: $340
