Pride Of Jenni headlines the field for the All Star Mile

One of the feature races at Flemington this Saturday is the All Star Mile (1600m), with the 2026 edition looking to be quite intriguing.

Down below is a speed map, runner preview and $100 betting strategy for the 2026 All Star Mile.

2026 All Star Mile Runner Preview:

1. Tom Kitten: Defending champ who got a great ride from Willow to win the Kevin Heffernan. Tick over trial last week…it was solid, without being super, it’ll be a truly run mile…how much start does he concede? He can win, but I’d rather watch.

2. Buckaroo: Lovely return in the Futurity…that was to the eye. On the clock and overall? Not entirely sure and I think he may have eyes on longer races. If he wins, he can win without me.

3. Antino: He looks cast for mine. Terrible in the Cox Plate, plain in his return in the Apollo. Concede he is much better racing the Melbourne way, but I just can’t entertain him.

4. Evaporate: He was there to win the Futurity but just whacked when fourth. Kept finding the line though so 1600m suits and his best is clearly good enough to threaten. I’d prefer to watch.

5. Steparty: He’s flying this horse but they’re aiming too high here IMO.

6. Watch Me Rock: Had the suck run in the Futurity and just whacked late. Not troubling these IMO.

7. Sabaj: Sabaj has to be going very close here with eyes towards the Doncaster I feel. He resumed in The Elms and yes, was held up and in restricted room, but I did think he had his chance when second to Cafe Millennium. Fitter, the mile, yes, it is a hard race, but he has the potential to be a star. Has to show it here.

8. Pride Of Jenni: I just don’t see how they beat Pride Of Jenni. Yes, there is that query of which Jenni turns up. The best version or the camel version. Jumpout/trial work has been solid enough but on race day, we know she is an absolute beast when on song and if she is ready to go, brings somewhere near her best, they won’t beat her.

9. Stefi Magnetica: Kept chasing and was a definite pass mark in the Apollo when resuming. Has been set for this race, has a kind map to get a drag into the race and she clearly commands respect.

10. Treasurethe Moment: I think she’s in trouble. The Caulfield trial win, to me, signalled that the Futurity was chips in to see what is there and she ran okay, but had her chance and was very weak late. To my eye, she did look forward in condition, but did have somewhat of a bee in her bonnet so from a mounting yard perspective, she’s a watch there, but I can’t have her.

11. Leica Lucy: I think Leica Lucy is the one from the Futurity to take into this race. Market said she wasn’t there to play, she was back last, wanting to lay in, but gee I liked the way she finished her race off in defeat. Eats up the Flemington mile, she’ll be strong late and is a definite winning chance.

2026 All Star Mile Speed Map

Seems pretty straight forward here with Pride Of Jenni leading. On paper, I can’t see anything wanting to chase her early. Treasurethe Moment is most likely but given her first up run, I doubt they want to do the work to drag up the field. Evaporate maybe? Not sure, but it all depends on what sort of lead Jenni has.
