Punters have crunched Ihtsahymn to win todays Darwin Cup

Defending champ Ihtsahymn is now the new favourite with Sportsbet.com.au to take out the Darwin Cup (2050m) this Monday.

The Rob Gulberti trained veteran won the race last year and looks on track to repeat the dose when a closing second first up behind key local chance Savatoxl, who did open the $4.20 favourite and while he has firmed to $3.90, he sits on the second line of betting behind Ihtsahymn, who opened $4.40 and has been crunched, now into $3.80.

The NT Derby has been a trap race re the Darwin Cup in recent years but punters think that could change in 2020 with Budget King, who is at $4.20 and rock solid after his dominant triumph in the Derby.
