1: Knights Order: You’ll read this for the first few: Suited by the bias. Led throughout and Clark rode to the bias. He got going early and it broke their hearts. Great return…where to now?

2: Numerian: He’s flying this horse. 1600m clearly short of his best and ridden upside down, but he kept finding ahd was very game. He’s right on track for The Metropolitan.

3: No Compromise: Had the 1/1 and was going easily in the run. Just doesn’t have the the sprint in the legs but stuck to the task pretty well with the Melbourne Cup his main aim. He’s on track.

4: Benaud: Given the way the track played, this was the run of the day by a mile. He never saw the fence, was wide no cover the trip and he had the audacity to find the line as well as he did. I’ll be stunned if he doesn’t go close in The Metropolitan.

5: Surefire: Don’t drop off him. He was legless in the conditions and out wide but was solid enough. He needs dry ground but I wouldn’t pen him.

6: Stockman: He was okay without jumping up and down. He was near the inside and is a swimmer so he had a bit in his corner. I want to see him again but at this stage, jury out re Metropolitan.

7: Alegron: Not sure he was happy in the conditions but for a 2400m+ horse first up, the run had merit so I’d say i6 was a pass mark looking forward.

8: Kukeracha: Out in the worst ground but battled on quite well for a horse probably not suited at this level. He can win if they aim a touch lower in grade/depth.

9: Crystal Pegasus: He’s a stayer so resuming here was always going to be an ask, especially in the conditions. Pass mark.

10: Entente: Not a wet tracker and not up to this level.
