Rosehill will stage one of spring’s premier contests on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m), a race that has consistently produced future stars.
This year’s edition is shaping as no different, with brilliant filly Tempted the one to beat following her dominant Run To The Rose triumph. Autumn Boy, also from Chris Waller’s yard, looms as her main danger after an impressive lead-up campaign.
Waller has a strong hand with additional runners Wodeton, Beiwacht, Sixties and Hidden Achievement, while James McDonald retains the ride on Wodeton.
Other proven stakes performers include Skyhook for the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou partnership, Rivellino for Kris Lees, and the Hawkes-trained Nepotism. State Visit and Without Peer add further depth to the feature.
With a deep line-up of high-class three-year-olds, the Golden Rose once again promises to be a defining moment of the spring carnival.
Tempted holds favouritism against the boys at $3.60 with online betting sites with Autumn Boy on the second line of betting and Skyhook and Wodeton sharing the third line of betting.
