Randwick will play host to one of Sydney’s great race days on Saturday with the running of the Epsom Handicap, where all eyes will be on unbeaten mare Autumn Glow.
Dubbed “Baby Winx” on social media, she will attempt to emulate the great champion by completing the Theo Marks–Epsom double as a four-year-old. Kerrin McEvoy retains the ride after steering her to a dominant victory last start.
Last year’s winner Ceolwulf looms as a major player once again, carrying topweight alongside Royal Patronage. Chris Waller has a powerful hand, with Lindermann, Militarize, Osipenko and Shannon Stakes winner Waterford all in contention, though the master trainer has hinted he may run fewer against his stable star.
The capacity field could also include Yellow Brick, Pier, Democracy Manifest and Swiftfalcon sneaking in at the bottom of the order.
