Caulfield Guineas 2026 Field

1600m Race at Caulfield Racecourse

Race Time: 4:30 pm
October 10, 2026
1. Unit Five (1)
J: Thomas Stockdale
T: Ciaron Maher
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $23
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: I don’t think he’s going well enough to threaten this lot. Rough outside first four chance at best.
2. Warwoven (6)
J: Ms Rachel King
T: Bjorn Baker
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $2.25
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Warwoven…well, he was regarded a top two year old around the Magic Millions time but injury sort of hampered his prep. He has returned as a 3YO and retaken the mantle because that Golden Rose triumph was just out of this world good, smashing the clock. If he runs up to that, he clearly takes beating here.
3. Tornado Valley (8)
J: William Pike
T: Ciaron Maher
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $26
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Tried hard in the Guineas Prelude but was safely held and suspect he will be safely held here.
4. Tron Bolt (11)
J: Craig Williams
T: Chris Waller
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $8.00
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: I’m not dropping off Tron Bolt. I don’t think he’s been there to play in his first two runs back, firstly in The Run To The Rose before the Golden Rose, closing strongly each time with good late splits. He is getting towards peak fitness, he gets to the mile, he will do me.
5. Blind Raise (2)
(NZ)
J: Blake Shinn
T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $3.70
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Can the Prelude win be trusted? He properly smashed the clock for the meeting, did it from the front and had plenty in hand. Is he the real deal? Time will tell. I am saying he is unders but he commands respect.
6. Diameter (9)
J: Jye McNeil
T: Chris Waller
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $27
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Nice horse but was completely blessed in the Stutt Stakes and he isn’t sharp enough for these.
7. Central Europe (7)
J: James McDonald
T: Chris Waller
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $15
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: He is still a maiden…why is he running here? And why he is still so highly regarded? He’s done nothing.
8. Somethings Burnin’ (3)
J: Ben Melham
T: Chris Waller
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $27
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: I think he’ll run better at Flemington vs Caulfield but maps to do no work and be effective late. One for exotics.
9. Wolf Gap (4)
J: Ethan Brown
T: Anthony & Sam Freedman
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $18
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Wolf Gap is one that could pinch first four. He ran in the Prelude and was never beating Blind Raise but he stuck on well enough in defeat. Tick over jumpout was quite good and if he can settle closer in the run, I think he can run a positive race at odds.
10. Seraphox (10)
J: Declan Bates
T: Ciaron Maher
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $61
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: Don’t think he is up to these.
11. Call Me Coach (5)
J: Mark Zahra
T: Anthony & Sam Freedman
W: 57kg
Best Odds: $17
Rating:
Bet
Now
COMMENT: He looks the Derby horse. The fact he has gone 2/2 to start his career suggests he’s well above average and he could be the x factor. This might be too soon, but I think he’s very good.
