The Daniel Morton trained Immortal Bliss scored a striking first-up win when he resumed in the Listed Beaufine Stakes over 1000m two weeks ago … and Morton now has the Listed H. G. Bolton Sprint, with its step up to 1200m, firmly in his sights with the four-year-old son of I Am Immortal.

Immortal Bliss has had three starts for the Morton stable after relocating from the Grant and Alana Williams yard and his all around consistency can be seen by the results he achieved with the time he spent at both of these stables … that is never having finished out of the first three places in ten starts dating back to August 7, 2025 (three wins, three second placings and one third place for Team Williams … and two wins and one third place for Morton).

Immortal Bliss had previously scored two wins for trainer Peter Hardacre, the stable where he began his career.

So, there is plenty of upside in terms of weighing up Immortal Bliss’ chances on Saturday where he will again be ridden by Lucy Fiore who has been in the saddle for all three runs for Morton.

Immortal Bliss is currently the second favourite for the Bolton Sprint at $3.90 behind the Simon Miller trained Twisted Steel ($3), the horse who Immortal Bliss held back in second place in the Beaufine … and Twisted Steel certainly has strong credentials of his own, particularly as he will now meet Immortal Bliss with a 2kg weight advantage for that 0.73 length defeat, a turnaround from their last clash where they met at level weights.

Like Immortal Bliss, Twisted Steel was first-up in the Beaufine. He won successive races in his last two starts before being spelled and, overall, boasts a fine record of four wins from only nine starts, indicating he is a three-year-old on the move. Clint Johnston-Porter keeps the ride.

There should again be little between these two runners at the line.

The two other runners in single figures in the betting are another Simon Miller trained contender Madhi Girl ($6) and the Trevor Andrews trained Luana Miss ($7).

Madhi Girl is second-up after finishing eighth, 3.16 lengths behind Immortal Bliss in the Beaufine. Willie Pike, who rode Madhi Girl there, keeps the faith and stays in the saddle.

Luana Miss finished fourth in the same race in her last start, two lengths behind Immortal Bliss and a length ahead of Madhi Girl. Steven Parnham again takes the ride.
