Registered NSW owner Kevin Randall has been handed a 10-month disqualification after being found guilty of training a racehorse without holding the appropriate licence.
Randall, who has not officially trained since 2020 following a previous disqualification, became the focus of an investigation conducted by Racing NSW stewards in March 2026.
During the inquiry, Racing NSW Northern Rivers Racing Association chief steward Mark Holloway gave evidence that he observed Randall exercising the thoroughbred Bowdarcie on the course proper at Casino Racecourse on March 14.
Randall subsequently left the racecourse and declined to respond to questions from Holloway.
Further investigations established that Bowdarcie had been under Randall’s care since January, with additional evidence indicating he had also been training another horse.
Two charges were subsequently laid against him. The first alleged that on approximately four occasions between February 24 and March 14, he trained Bowdarcie and Super Looks on the course proper at Casino Racecourse without holding a valid training licence or permit issued by Racing NSW.
The second charge related to his refusal to engage with or answer questions from Holloway.
Randall pleaded guilty to both offences and was issued a disqualification period beginning on April 7 and concluding on February 7, 2027.
