Trainer Andrew NobletĀ has reset the campaign of All About EveĀ who returns after a short break at Caulfield.
All About Eve heads to the Michael Walker Farewell Handicap (1100m) on Saturday, the first meeting back at Caulfield since late November.
The rising five-year-old daughter of Star TurnĀ has aĀ solidĀ fresh record, winning twice from five starts, but Noblet is at a loss to explain the mare’s first-up flop in Adelaide.
On that occasion, All About Eve finished last, more than 11 lengths behind Little Miss Kubi, in the Listed Manihi Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville.
“She went to Adelaide andĀ didn’tĀ perform well, butĀ she’dĀ been going well before that,” Noblet said.
“IĀ don’tĀ know what it was over there. Whether it was just that sheĀ didn’tĀ travel well or something like that, IĀ don’tĀ know, butĀ she’sĀ better than that.
“I’ve just kept her ticking along, freshened her up again and she trialled up well on the synthetic (at Ballarat) last week.”
Noblet is looking forward to the return of racing at Caulfield with racing not having beenĀ conducted at the course since Zipping Classic Day last November.
A new track has been constructed inside the course properĀ while the main track underwent a renovationĀ and performed well in a series of jump-outs last week.
Importantly for Noblet, All About Eve has performed well at Caulfield previously.
She finished second, at start number two, at the track over 1200m in May 2021 and her only other appearance at the course was when beaten just over three-and-a-half lengths in a Stakes race during the Spring Carnival later that year.
“I’mĀ glad to be backĀ there, becauseĀ it suits a horse like her,” Noblet said.
“It’s a great track and I watched a couple of the gallops there last week and it looks really good.”
