2022 Thousand Guineas Post Race Horse Ratings
1. Madame Pommery: Peach from J Mac. Saved all the ground by staying towards the inside of the pack, cut the corner inside them and that no doubt won her the race. Great ride and great training performance.
Rating: 8/10
2. Revolutionary Miss: She was very good. Back last in the run and forced widest on the turn, I really liked the way she finished her race off, albeit held late by Madame Pommery, but swap the runs, swap the result.
Rating: 8.5/10
3. She’s Licketysplit: Tracked the speed and seemingly had her chance I thought. Credit to her though, she could have chucked in the towel but she fought it out and stuck on really well for a third in a good effort to get a Group l placing.
Rating: 7/10
4. Boogie Dancer: She was disappointing. She got conditions to suit and presented to win the race at the top of the straight but she didn’t finish the race off at all and was pretty weak late. Jury is out on her IMO.
Rating: 4/10
5. North Star Lass: Got the lead very comfortably as a result of Waltz On By missing the start. Like the Flight Stakes, Clark rated her superbly in front. She simply just isn’t good enough to run a strong mile.
Rating: 5/10
6. Jenny Jerome: Was back last with Revolutionary Miss. Got held up slightly but was out in plenty of time. Worked to the line well enough and for mine, is a filly that could head towards the Wakeful and see if she’s up to an Oaks.
Rating: 5/10
7. Russian Conquest: Tracked North Star Lass throughout, with Jamie Kah using the inside gate to advantage. But, when asked for the big effort, she went backwards and was on the plain side. Doubt we will see her on wet ground again.
Rating: 4/10
8. Waltz On By: She bombed the start when most had her mapping outside North Star Lass so once she was back and buried, her chances were well and truly done dusted. Forget she went around.
Rating: 3/10
9. Tajneed: Was wide throughout but it was more she couldn’t pick her feet up on the bog. Nice filly, but she was pretty ordinary here, so forgive and forget. Save for another day.
Rating: 2/10
