Mossfun has lived up to her reputation as one of the best wet-track two-year-olds in training to win the $3.5 million Golden Slipper at Rosehill.
Keeping an unbeaten record in rain-affected ground, Mossfun ($5.50) hugged the rails in beating the favourite Earthquake ($2.40) and Bring Me The Maid ($11) in the world’s richest race for juveniles.

The filly gave Hawkes Racing, a family training partnership involving Hall of Fame trainer John Hawkes and his sons Michael and Wayne a breakthrough Golden Slipper win.
But the win wasn’t without incident, as Mossfun missed the start and settled at the back of the field.
It forced jockey James McDonald to ride for luck and Mossfun did the rest, overhauling Earthquake close to the line.
“It didn’t all go to plan. She just bobbed as the gates opened,” McDonald said.
Bring Me The Maid flashed home for third with fillies filling the first five places across the line.
