Starluck is still on course for Aintree next month despite suffering a slight injury when surprisingly beaten at Sandown on Saturday.
Trainer Alan Fleming believes the grey will have recovered in a few day’s time and is looking forward to preparing him for the Grade One Maghull Novices’ Chase over two miles (3200m) on Grand National day.
A former classy hurdler, Starluck sustained his injury when only third of four to Mamlook at his second start over fences after winning at Huntingdon last month.
“He has an overreach, but it’s manageable and it should be OK by the end of the week,” Fleming said.
“Aintree is still very much the plan and he’ll do plenty of schooling between now and then.”
