Three horses from Japan are among the 25 internationally trained entries for this year’s Caulfield Cup.
Japanese horse Admire Rakti claimed a famous victory in 2014 and this year Fame Game, Hokko Brave and Hana’s Revenge will be vying for berths in the $3 million race.
The Cox Plate attracted 20 overseas entries including three from Ireland’s Aidan O’Brien who became the first northern hemisphere trainer to win the weight-for-age showpiece with Adelaide last year.
O’Brien has nominated Cougar Mountain, Highland Reel and Ol Man River for the race.
Connections of two of the horses invited to the Cox Plate – Gailo Chop and Arod – have put in entries.
All up there are 209 entries for the Caulfield Cup, the world’s richest 2400m handicap and 173 nominations for the Cox Plate.
