Arguably Macau’s best galloper Luen Yat Forever has been scratched from Saturdays Group 1 Kingston Town Classic at Ascot racecourse due to transportation issues.
Luen Yat Forever had his first Australian run in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield and ran a very impressive 4th behind More Joyous, trainer Pou Choi was very pleased with the son of Honours List and decided to take a gamble and step the 5YO up in class to contest the Cox Plate which he failed miserably beaten 15.9L by star So You Think.
After pulling up okay he was targeted at the Emirates Stakes allowing for a 2 week rest after the tough run at Moonee Valley, again he put in another very good run to finish 4th behind NZ star Wall Street. He then tackled the Group 3 Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Stakes at Sandown in which he started 3rd favourite but finished a dismal 5th although there were excuses in the run as the track had been downgraded to a Heavy8 before the race.
Connections decided they will take the 5Yo to WA to contest the Kingston town Classic although due to transportation issues he will not be able to make the race, similar to the situation True Persuasion was in last week after being scratched from the Winterbottom Stakes.
Luen Yat Forever was at $12 to win the event.
