An early arrival in Sydney and an encouraging trial have left trainer Mick Price satisfied he has done all he can to have promising filly Isabella Snowflake ready for a shot at the stars in The Galaxy at Rosehill on Saturday.

After struggling to find a suitable race for the filly, Price settled on the 1100m Group One sprint as the most suitable and has since become content he has chosen well.

“It was hard to find exactly the right race so I settled on this and I’m pretty happy with it now,” Price said.

“We went up to Sydney nice and early to settle in and get her going along.

“It seems to have come together judging by her run in a trial at Randwick last week.”

Isabella Snowflake has won four of her only five starts and resumed earlier this month with an impressive victory in Listed company over 1000m at Flemington.

The daughter of Not A Single Doubt handled the clockwise direction comfortably in her 800m trial in which she led under a strong hold and cruised to the line, allowing another Victorian, and a likely opponent on Saturday, Bel Sprinter, get over the top of her in the final 30m.

The filly gets into the Galaxy on the minimum of 52kg with Hay List topping the weights on 59.5kg.

His weight improves the chances of Hay List taking his place after trainer John McNair said he was unlikely to run with more than 60kg.

At his first start for 12 months, Hay List finished fourth in the Challenge Stakes won by three-year-old Snitzerland, runner-up in the 2012 Golden Slipper.

Snitzerland will carry 53.5kg while Decision Time, second in the Challenge, has 55kg.

Triple Group One winner Sea Siren is second topweight with 56kg while international performer Ortensia has 55.5kg.
