A large crowd has gathered to farewell legendary racehorse trainer Bart Cummings at a memorial service at Flemington racecourse, the scene of his record 12 Melbourne Cup wins.
Rogan Josh, the horse that gave Cummings his 11th Cup in 1999 and Cummings’ 12 Melbourne Cup trophies have been paraded as part of the opening procession, carried by jockeys wearing the colours of the respective Cup winners.
Cummings died last Sunday week aged 87.
