Australian jockey Zac Purton’s $A40,000 fine for failing to report an approach from a well-known Hong Kong punter will stand.
Purton had his appeal dismissed on Monday, the Hong Kong Jockey Club website reported.
He appealed the severity of the fine after being found guilty of not telling Hong Kong stewards he had been misled into meeting with the punter.
Purton was cleared at the inquiry of being involved in an improper and dishonest arrangement and the fine is not expected to have any effect on his Hong Kong licence.
