Lawyers for the Racing Victoria stewards have called for a two-year disqualification for Tony Karakatsanis and one year for his son Con.
The pair were earlier found guilty of charges in relation to an intention to stomach tube the horse Howmuchdoyouloveme before it raced at Flemington on November 3.
Dr Cliff Pannam said Tony Karakatsanis had “a dreadful record in this area” when he was a trainer.
As a result he should receive the heavier penalty.
The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board is considering submissions on penalty.
