Brendon McCoull will miss the Tasmanian summer carnival with a broken collarbone sustained in a race fall at Launceston on Wednesday night.
The multiple premiership-winning Tasmanian jockey suffered a broken right collarbone when I Am Patience broke his leg after crossing the line in the seventh race.
The three-year-old gelding had to be euthanased.
McCoull was taken to the Launceston General Hospital where the break in his right clavicle was confirmed.
He was released late on Wednesday night.
The Tasmanian summer carnival starts on Sunday with the running of the Listed Hobart Guineas (2100m).
Meanwhile, a power outage in one of the light towers prevented the last two races on Wednesday night from proceeding.
Following the running of the seventh race, a short circuit in the power box below the tower around the 1300m mark caused the lights to fail and stewards had no option but to postpone the final two events.
