The big money is already arriving for unbeaten mare Black Caviar despite opening as a short priced $1.45 favourite.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said punters weren’t put off by the short quote and obviously thought the Peter Moody trained star was unbeatable.
“We took a bet of $40,000 at $1.45 as soon as we posted the market and I think that will just be the start of what is sure to one of the biggest holds on a single horse during the carnival,†Sullivan s
aid.
“Punters just love her which is no surprise given she is unbeaten and I don’t see punters backing much to beat here.â€
Sullivan said he was keen to lay the Black Caviar at the short odds and was certain punters would accommodate him.
“There is depth in this field with Hay List, King Pulse and Crystal Lily so she will want to be on top of her game to win and at $1.45 I have to take her on,†he said.
“The early signs though are that punters think she is a moral with the $1.45 being snapped up by punters.â€
