Mark Kavanagh has broken his run of bad luck when the late entry into the Melbourne Cup ”Shocking” took out todays cup.
Shocking got out of the barriers cleanly but was posted 3 wide with cover for the entire trip, the speed upfront was slow which allowed Shocking to have a decent mid race sit in which he started his long sustained run during the turn and headed Crime Scene in the final 100m to take out the 2009 Melbourne Cup worth more than 3.3 million dollars to the connections.
